It's always good to have goals. Here are some of mine for April:
--figure out what happened to the "mysterious, vanishing $200" that was supposedly declined to my daughter's dentist office that, in actuality, was taken out of my account.
--go to Harvest Assembly of God church for Easter to hear Testify sing.
--celebrate my anniversary (the 13th) with my husband in Shreveport. This is going to require finding an overnight sitter.
--get my husband a really great birthday gift on the 23rd. He'll be 36 this year....he's getting old! LOL!
I'm sure I'll come up with more as the month progresses.

Thursday Thirteen!
Not only is today Thursday, but it's the beginning of the month of February, so today, my list will be dedicated to my goals for the month. 1. I'm going to finish the stitching on the Christmas stocking I'm being paid to do. I need to do this so I can spend March backstitching and have it finished before April 1st. 2. I'm going to remember to call and make Alyssa a dentist appointment to put in her spacer. 3. I'm going to visit Claiborne Christian School and make a decision about whether or not to enroll Alyssa there for next year. 4. I'm going to save money...for what, I'm not sure, but I'm going to start doing it anyway. 5. I'm going to blog...every day!! 6. I'm going to try at least ONE new food. I've got to get my diet back on track. 7. I'm going to straighten and organize Alyssa's bedroom, throwing things away and donating to Goodwill where necessary. 8. I'm going to take my daughter and have some portraits made with her. 9. I'm going to make my family get up and go to church. 10. I'm going to spend LESS time on the computer and MORE time doing other things, such as reading to my daughter, reading my own books, cleaning, etc. 11. I'm going to find a new project to paint because I have thoroughly enjoyed painting Alyssa's bookcase and I'm almost finished. 12. I'm going to buy a new Lizzie Kate Flip-It Stamp. 13. I'm going to start my base tan in the tanning bed (maybe). Links to other Thursday Thirteens! 1. (leave your link in comments, I’ll add you here!) |
The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well! I will link to everyone who participates and leaves a link to their 13 things. Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

2007
So, it's officially 2007 and I have a few resolutions. Keep in mind, I'm just pulling some of this out of my head right now. I haven't really thought that much about my resolutions, but I always have some, so here they are:
1. I'm going to start going to church. I need to get my daughter involved with things that will be a good influence on her.
2. I'm going to, slowly but surely, start adding more things to my meager diet. I recently started eating turkey, which is HUGE for me!! I've got to lick this eating disorder and apparently, I'm going to have to do it without any professional help.
3. I'm going to go back to school. I've got my application filled out and just waiting for the office to open again to take it by. I have to find my shot record and get financial aid in order before I can officially start, but I'm SOOOOO ready!! I'm going to major in English education and teach high school English.
4. I'm going to be diligent about sending birthday cards this year. I'm going to buy some in advance so I never have to run to the store and I'm going to fill out my calendar TODAY so I don't forget a birthday!!
5. I'm going to start buying Christmas and birthday gifts for my daughter in advance, because it always sets us WAY back, financially, assuming that we have the money to get her anything at all, which, for her birthday, we didn't, and it sucked. That is NOT happening again and I'm going to start in January buying things if I have to!
6. I'm going to keep my house cleaner.
7. I'm going to be more diligent about my self-improvement. My nails will ALWAYS be done...my hair will ALWAYS be cut and highlighted on schedule...my eyebrows will always be waxed. I'm tired of letting myself go because I'm lazy and/or broke!
8. I'm going to be more positive. From now on, no matter what is going on, I'm going to find SOMETHING positive to say about it. And, for every negative thing I say, I have to say five positive things to counter it. I'm tired of being such a pessimistic person. I've met enough people who do NOTHING but bitch, bitch, bitch and I realize how annoying it is to listen to and how I don't even want to answer the phone half the time when they call...and I don't want to be one of those people!
That's all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure I'll come up with other things I want to do this year to make my life better and make the people around me feel better. I'll keep you updated.

What I Need.....
...is to feel important. I need someone to care. I've finally come up with a possible plan for my life and no one seems to give a rat's ass. So, here I am....sharing it on my blog. I want to be a high school English teacher. Sounds strange, for those of you who know me. I think I want to be in the education field, so that my daughter and I can have the same holidays and I won't have to give up so much of my time with her. She drives me nuts, but I love her more than life. I know I can't do elementary education, because I don't really like kids (aside from MINE) and the first time someone else's kid pukes on my shoes, all bets are off! So, I need to look into financial aid and admissions crap so I can, MAYBE get started this summer. It would be so great for my life to feel like it has meaning...particularly if I'm doing it MYSELF! I need to feel like I matter.
