Good Weekend, Bad Holiday

This weekend started off GREAT! I had a friend come in from Mississippi to visit and it was awesome! Then, Saturday started off well, also. We went to the mall and I actually got to SHOP....like, with real MONEY!! It didn't turn sour until it came time to trick or treat. Apparently, this podunk town decided to hold trick or treating from 3-7 and we had no idea. Of course, it was in the paper, but who reads the paper in a small town like this??? So, by the time we got ready to go, everyone was gone...no lights on, nothing....so I had a very disappointed little girl on my hands and I felt terrible! I thought of all the people sitting at home on their modern sofas while my 7 year old searched in vain for someone at home to give her candy at 7:30pm! I am so infuriated at this town and at myself, for not paying more attention and letting my daughter down AGAIN...for the second (or third) time in a month. I don't deserve her!
